![]() Ping Pong Gallery is a contemporary gallery supporting an exhibition series of innovative, challenging work by emerging national and international artists working in areas of visual art, as well as conceptual, installation, and performance. The gallery works with artists whose work we believe to be intellectually rigorous, relevant, ambitious, and affecting. The gallery is a member of NADA, the New Art Dealers Alliance. Founded in November 2005 by husband and wife Joey Piziali and Vanessa Blaikie, Ping Pong Gallery was initially conceived as an alternative project space wherein an action oriented activity, Ping-Pong, seemingly unrelated to the arts, would give shape to an exhibition space and set in motion both a literal and figurative dialogue between artists and individuals. A sculptural playground of sorts, or living project, Ping Pong Gallery was rooted in the collective instinct, as well as in the works, objects, and performances themselves. Significant to the mission of the project space was art as a form of unremitting conversation. In 2008, Ping Pong Gallery made the shift from alternative project space to contemporary gallery, representing a stable of thirteen artists: Deric Carner, Amanda Curreri, Jonathan Hittner, Branden Koch, Susan O’Malley, Joshua Pieper, James Sterling Pitt, Lucy Pullen, Gwenaël Rattke, Erik Scollon, Chad Stayrook, Kirk Stoller, and Brian Wasson. |
